I made this smoothie this morning when I was craving something sweet but light. The frozen banana and blueberry are of course delicious and adding a few leaves of kale ensures you are getting enough nutrients in the morning. I’ll switch off between protein powders so feel free to have whichever one you have on hand and enjoy!
Recipe for Blueberry Banana Smoothie with Toasted Walnuts and Coconut Flakes
- 1 1/2 cups unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 scoop protein powder
- 2 large handfuls of kale
- 1 frozen banana, cut into cubes
- 1/2 cup frozen blueberries
- optional add ins:
- 1 Tbs ground flaxseed
- 1 Tbs hemp seed
- 1 Tbs shredded coconut
- 1 pitted medjool date
Place all ingredients in a blender (in the order listed) and blend until smooth and creamy. Garnish with toasted walnuts and shredded coconut. Enjoy!
