Old Mission Santa Barbara: While not technically a “hike”, there are gorgeous streets to walk around here and the views are dreamy.
My sisters and I love to hike in Santa Barbara and there are so many gorgeous trails so it’s never boring! There’s always a new ocean view lookout or sunny perch to gaze at the mountains from. In the past 10 year or so, we’ve gone on so many hikes and I’ve have narrowed my favorites down to a few really good ones. I tend to like hikes that are intense and about an hour to an hour and a half but on this list there will be something for everyone, whether you like hilly mountains or a flat beach at sunset.
Inspiration Point: Definitely my all-time favorite. This hike is steep on the way up, but if you push your pace you can reach the lookout in just over 30 minutes and the way down is a breeze. You can also go up the Jesusita Trail to Inspiration Point which has gorgeous running loops. Inspiration Point also connects to 7 Falls… can you tell why it’s my favorite yet? So many possibilities!
Rattlesnake Canyon: A little bit of a longer hike (about 2 hours) but definitely worth it. Beautiful views, friendly people, and multiple picnic-perfect meadows along the way.
Any Dog Friendly Beach (such as Butterfly Beach) I love taking my dogs out to the beach when my parents visit with them!
