After a fresh haircut and hair mask.
Taking good care of your hair is so important. I naturally have dark brown, straight (and very thick!) hair, but when I haven’t been paying attention to it, it can become untamed and unruly. I try to do a good hair mask once a week, but sometimes it just doesn’t happen. Two weekends ago, my mom and I got ‘hair rejuvenation’ treatments as part of our spa weekend in Calistoga which worked wonders on our locks– our hair felt so silky and smooth and was absolutely glimmering in the light post-treatment. This blissful feeling inspired me to do a coconut honey hair mask and honestly, the feeling after was just as good and it only requires coconut oil and honey! No harsh chemicals or lab-produced ingredients… just the way it should be.
For the coconut honey hair mask, simply melt about 2 tablespoons of coconut oil + 1 tbs of honey in the microwave for about 15 seconds and massage it into your hair. Be sure to thoroughly massage it into the roots, which helps stimulate hair growth. Once all of your hair is coated, put it in a braid or a tight bun and leave in for at least 2 hours (and up to overnight!). Shampoo with a natural shampoo such as this one, once, twice, or three times (until your hair feels clean and non-oily). Condition hair and let air dry!
