It’s no secret that I am obsessed with everything ginger: ginger tea (Yogi makes my favorite), paleo ginger cookies, gingerbread, the list goes on… the only problem I have with ginger itself is how difficult it is to prepare. To make these ice cubes, you still need to peel the ginger but then, once you have made them, you have a nice back stock for easy access anytime! You can easily throw it into soups (like my roasted butternut squash soup) or use it as you would use fresh ginger.
As the name suggests, you can also throw one of these into a glass of water for a refreshing sip! You can also easily brew fresh tea by pouring boiling water over one of these in your favorite mug. Sip and enjoy the benefits of all 3 ingredients!
Recipe for Turmeric Ginger & Lemon Ice Cubes
- 1 whole piece of ginger, peeled and roughly chopped
- juice of 1 lemon
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 2 cups filtered water
- Combine all ingredients in a high powered blender and blend until completely smooth.
- Pour in your favorite ice cube mold and enjoy!
